John Kassir
John Kassir’s career includes providing the voice of the “Crypt Keeper” on the TV series Tales from the Crypt, and the voice of “Meeko the Raccoon” in Disney's Pocahontas.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Kassir got his start in the off-Broadway musical 3 Guys Naked from the Waist Down. The play earned Kassir both a Drama Desk Award nomination and an Outer Circle Critics Award nomination. When a talent scout for the TV show Star Search encouraged him to compete as a stand-up comedian, Kassir ended up winning the show's $100,000 grand prize, and besting both Rosie O'Donnell and Sinbad. Among his other TV acting roles was that of “Shemp Howard” in the TV movie The Three Stooges.
